Less known genealogical websites
by Aleksandra Kacprzak
Geneteka is great, but there are other informative genealogical websites out there. For this class, we will see what websites are available for genealogical research in central and northeastern Poland in the Russian partition. These websites have indexed metrical records, scanned records and indexes of additional sources not indexed in any other places. Bring your laptop and we will work together to discover what treasures this website has to give us.
Sunday Class now open April 23, 2023 beginning 11:30AM. Click on the flyer below to register.
Genealodzy.pl – is more than Geneteka
by Aleksandra Kacprzak
The Polish genealogical website Geneteka is well known to researchers, but did you know it is just one part of the website Genealodzy.pl? Genealodzy.pl offers other research possibilities. Together, we will look at metrical record scans and other book scans that are only found here. Perhaps the census like books will break down a brick wall. Did you know there was a message board where you can find living family and other people researching in your parish? These are just a few examples of what we can find on our journey. Please bring your laptop and we will discover together all these possibilities.

Do you have Polish birth, death and marriage records written in Polish that you would love to be able to read? Then this is the workshop for you. The class will start with a review of the set up of the documents and a list of the most common words in the documents, such as months and numbers. We will spend the rest of the class using what you learned on one of your own documents. We ask that you send your document to Lucjan by April 12.
